New editor appointed for CLEO
July 06
Sarah Oakes, the editor of CLEO magazine, has resigned her position to
pursue other opportunities and will be replaced by new editor Gemma Crisp.
In her two years at CLEO Sarah has built a great team and presided over
the relaunch and repositioning of the magazine in October 2009.
“It has been an enormous privilege to edit CLEO and it has been an
incredibly difficult decision to leave. I’ve learnt an enormous amount at
ACP and had the opportunity to work with and learn from the very best in the
industry,” Ms Oakes said.
Gemma Crisp will take
over as editor of CLEO. Having worked in the magazine industry for more than 10
years - including stints at British Marie Claire, New Woman, Girlfriend,
CLEO and more recently, two years as the editor of DOLLY - Gemma is looking
forward to taking the job.
“I’ve always loved CLEO
– it’s an iconic Australian magazine with a lot of history and an exciting
future. Having worked on the title as both Features Editor and Associate
Editor, I can’t wait to continue the great work Sarah has done over the past
two years. After spending the last eight months in the freelance world, I’m
excited about working with the CLEO team to take the brand to the next level,”
Ms Crisp said.
