Harper's BAZAAR launches doco: Being BAZAAR
Today Harper’s BAZAAR Australia launches its first documentary film: Being BAZAAR.
Starring Karl Lagerfeld, Alber Elbaz, Christopher Bailey, Kanye West, Karlie Kloss, Natalia Vodianova and the Harper’s BAZAAR editorial team, Being BAZAAR is a sneak peek into the exclusive world of luxury fashion.
It is a film about passion and how BAZAAR, a 145-year-old international fashion brand, is continually evolving and adapting within the ever-changing fashion industry.
Directed and shot by renowned fashion film-maker Anthony Lau, the short film project began in February with Lau following the BAZAAR team to the fashion capitals of the world, including Paris where he captured the cover shoot for the September issue.
“This is an incredibly important project for BAZAAR and Anthony has been committed to producing a fine documentary that truly represents Harper’s BAZAAR Australia on the global stage. I’m extremely proud of the final film,” said Harper’s BAZAAR editor Kellie Hush.
“Being BAZAAR celebrates the remarkable heritage of the Harper’s BAZAAR brand,” said publisher Robyn Foyster. “Anthony Lau has done an exceptional job in bringing the world behind the pages of Harper’s BAZAAR to life. It also shows the passion and the enthusiasm that goes into producing the world’s most prestigious fashion magazine.”
Being BAZAAR will premiere at Dendy Opera Quays in Sydney tonight with over 250 VIP guests from the fashion industry attending the event. The Melbourne premiere is being held at The Como on August 9.
On August 13 Being BAZAAR will be screened world-wide exclusively on the premium digital cinema community MUBI.com and supported by a co-branded cinema advertising and taxi back campaign.
Harper’s BAZAAR launched in Australia in 1998 as part of the joint venture between ACP Magazines and Hearst Magazines International – the most successful and longstanding media partnership in Australia. The joint venture also publishes Cosmopolitan and madison.
