EMPIRE magazine launches new website with Battleship preview screening followed by Q+A with director Peter Berg

EMPIRE is celebrating the launch of EmpireOnline.com.au with a screening of Battleship, the
blockbuster starring Liam Neeson, Taylor Kitsch and Rihanna, and directed by Peter Berg.
The director is participating live for a Q&A session with Empire’s Editor and the audience, directly
after the screening, at Hoyts Broadway, Sydney. "It is more than appropriate to launch a digital remastering of
our online property with a spectacular special effects-laden blockbuster like Battleship," Editor Daniel
Murphy says. "And to have a director like Peter joining us is fantastic. It’s a chance for our dedicated
readers and EmpireOnline.com.au members to chat with one of the industry’s great talents."
EMPIRE, the world’s best movie magazine, goes live with the new, improved and complementary
website two days prior, on April 9, in time with the May 2012 "$8 Billion Blockbuster Special" edition.
"We are delighted to finally have a digital headquarters that works so well in tandem with our print
edition," says Murphy. "While attracting an impressive active membership community of 15,000 users,
our previous content management system was hopelessly out-dated. Access to our 10,000 strong
reviews reference library is now infinitely easier, our trailer hub is now hosted on the site itself, and the
entirety looks beautiful and is a pleasure to navigate."
THE new site, created by ACP Digital, is a component of Empire’s strategy to maintain its position
as the biggest presence in film appreciation in Australia and New Zealand.
